I’m a new face at CABI, fresh from earning a PhD from the University of Birmingham with a four year research project on the fungal wheat pathogen Stagonospora nodorum. I became interested in the field of plant pathology during my undergraduate years at Birmingham and embarked on my PhD to extend my studies. Postgraduate research often put me in the position of needing to communicate with both other scientists and non-scientific audiences. I decided to expand my experience of science communication and sought out a position at CABI, a leading provider of scientific information for the world.

Now, I’m an editor in the Crop Protection Content Development team, keeping our database up to date with the world’s crop protection information. Hopefully, the CABI blog is only the first of many exciting new channels that we can use to communicate with our customers.
