Content Editor, Environmental Sciences

I discovered a love for plants whilst working in a less than fulfilling job, so I enrolled on a practical horticulture course. This led on to a degree - and amongst other work experience - a six-month spell in Nepal, a job as plant breeding assistant at Thompson and Morgan, and an internship at the Centre for Economic Botany, RBG Kew. A Masters in Botanical Conservation followed during which I organised and carried out a research project in Nyika National Park in Malawi on a threatened species of juniper.

I came to work at CABI in late 2006 and am part of the Environmental Sciences team. I’m editor of Agricultural Engineering Abstracts  and an editor of Forestry Abstracts. I also work on the R4D project, contribute to database content and write blogs.

I still love plants, am passionate about environmental conservation, and feel that sustainable development and knowledge transfer/dissemination are important ways of achieving this.
